The Super Visa is a special multiple entry visa for parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens and permanent residents, allowing them to visit Canada for extended periods up to two years per visit without needing to renew their status. It is valid for up to 10 years or one month before the expiry of the passport, whichever comes first.  To qualify, applicants must receive a letter of invitation from their child or grandchild in Canada, demonstrating that they meet the minimum income threshold to support their stay. Applicants must also obtain private medical insurance valid for at least one year from a Canadian insurer and undergo a medical exam. The application includes biographical, financial, and travel documents, as well as proof of ties to their home country to demonstrate their intention to return after the visit.
